🦈 Megalodon tooth
$320
Species: Otodus megalodon Origin: New Caledonia Weight: 149 g Dimensions: 102 × 72 × 25 mm A fine fossilised tooth from Megalodon, the gigantic prehistoric shark that ruled the oceans during the Miocene and Pliocene epochs. This specimen features a massive crown in olive-brown hues, with beautiful natural shades resulting from the fossilisation process. The enamel is still clearly visible and displays fine striations as well as the characteristic marks of its long time spent in the sediments. The root, which is particularly imposing, is well-preserved overall and displays a very pronounced fossilised texture. Several cracks and signs of wear are visible, bearing witness to the natural history of this tooth. Measuring 10.2 cm in height, this tooth is a fine collector’s item, made particularly interesting by its provenance from New Caledonia – a source less common on the market than teeth from, for example, the United States or Indonesia. An authentic specimen full of character, ideal for a collection of fossils or shark teeth.
